New! Hire-Intelligence Now Offers Literacy Testing

One of the major challenges facing companies today throughout numerous roles is effective communication. Many employees lack the ability to write clearly and intelligently. Employees may also lack the ability to read and comprehend written communication.

Reading and writing is often an overlooked skill in hiring, although it is the skill most utilized by employees. In this day and age of emails, blogs, Twitters and text messages, written communication and the ability to understand it has become more important than ever. Often your company’s reputation can rest on a few written sentences crafted by your marketing team or an email composed by a subordinate. Will you stake your livelihood upon their ability to read and write intelligently? So much can be tarnished over a skill often taken for granted.

Hire-Intelligence provides literacy testing to assess how well your employees and candidates can effectively communicate with colleagues and customers. Reading and writing are tested separately.

In 2007, companies spent an estimated $5 billion to train their employees to write more effectively. Hire-Intelligence’s writing assessment can help you avoid these expenses by hiring people who already write effectively.

Our writing test evaluates the candidate for a number of structural and logical skills based on an essay composed by the candidate. The subject of the essay can be determined by you the administrator and can relate to the job at hand. This results in further insight, beyond the writing skills score, as to how the candidate feels about the topic and how it pertains to the job.

Our reading test requires the candidate/employee to read a number of passages and answer questions based on these passages to determine their level of comprehension. Results are reported as an approximate school grade level of the candidate’s comprehension ability.
